A Board-certified Pediatrician, Dr. Cannon is a senior healthcare executive with 20+ years of progressive experience in clinical and administrative environments and a demonstrable record of improving the overall value of healthcare delivery.

Dr. Cannon’s adaptability, pragmatism and collaborative spirit, leadership skills and passion about improving marginalized children’s health and lives inform all his work.

Chaired many committees during his tenure with Children’s Health System of Texas. Expertise in:

General pediatrics & pediatric acute/emergency care | Healthcare administration & managed care | Long-term strategy development/ implementation | Compliance | Process improvement planning, program coordination | Relationship building.

As Vice President, Chief Outcomes Officer, Joint Pediatric Enterprise (JPE) at Children’s Health System of Texas (2021), Dr. Cannon collaborated with internal/external stakeholders to work on executing on JPE’s mission to improve quality, cost/efficiency of care for the growing North Texas pediatric population. Partnering with a technology company, he targeted reductions in length of stay, readmission rates and asthma-related admissions by operationalizing efforts to prevent and decrease sepsis incidents.

Before, as VP & Medical Director, Children’s Medical Center Health Plan (2018 –2021), and as Medical Director, Children’s Medical Center, Asthma Management Program, Dr. Cannon oversaw/managed the health plan’s clinical operations teams and developed results-driven and cost-effective solutions. Working with HMS and Quality Management Directors, he ensured meeting/exceeding healthcare cost and quality targets by developing/implementing processes to manage clinical policies that ultimately led to improved Plan profitability, achieving compliance for the first time in Firm’s history, improved medical/behavioral health outcomes (40% reduction in potentially-preventable readmission rates) and improved quality of care.

From 2015 – 2018, Dr. Cannon served as Medical Director for Amerigroup (Anthem, Inc.), ensuring that the appropriate medical care was delivered in the most cost-effective manner and in the most appropriate setting.

Dr. Cannon started his career as an Attending Physician with Wolfson Children’s Hospital, Emergency Room/Urgent Care Center in 2001 and held both Attending Physician and progressive Medical Director roles with several organizations, the last as Senior Medical Director, Community Health Choice (2014 –2015). From 2007 – 2008, he also served as Clinical Assistant Professor in addition to his role as Medical Director at the University of Florida/Kids ‘N Care Health Center, Jacksonville (2007 – 2008).

Dr. Cannon has an MD from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine, an MS in Healthcare Leadership & Management from the Naveen Jindal School of Management, and a BS in Biology cum laude from Xavier University of Louisiana. He completed his Residency in General Pediatrics at the University of Florida in Jacksonville. Dr. Cannon is board certified in General Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is also a Fellow, Texas Hospital Association Leadership Fellows Program (2021).

 

Dr. Cannon enjoys spending time and traveling with his wife and their two beautiful daughters. He and his wife regularly participates in competitive races of various distances across the country and abroad.

Tamara Cannon, Ph.D.

Dr. Cannon is a licensed clinical psychologist at Wellness 360 in Dallas, Texas.  Her empathetic, compassionate, strength-focused approach is critical to supporting clients as they work to conquer life challenges and commit to a life of continuous growth. She helps clients navigate through depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, adjustment difficulties, career stress and relationship issues.  Dr. Cannon has a special interest in promoting wellness through healthy lifestyle choices such as fitness and nutrition.  She works tirelessly to help her clients achieve wellness by breaking through blind spots, unhealthy patterns, and making positive healthy choices.

After graduating early from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Dr. Cannon was awarded a Southern Regional Education Board Doctoral Scholars Fellowship, which provided a full academic scholarship to attend the top-ranked Doctor of Philosophy Program at the University of Virginia.  Following graduation and a successful defense of her dissertation, she entered the workforce as a clinical sales consultant with Pfizer, Inc.  She enjoyed a successful five-year award-winning career in pharmaceuticals.  Dr. Cannon has since been committed to serving her life’s purpose as a clinical psychologist. 

Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dr. Cannon lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex with her husband of 11 years and their two beautiful daughters.  She is a self-proclaimed foodie and has a knack for cooking Cajun/Creole foods. She is an avid yogi and enjoys running and training for various races, ranging from 5Ks to half-marathons. Dr. Cannon understands the importance of giving back to those who are less fortunate. She is an active member of multiple organizations that provide community service on a local and national level.

Lucrecia Davis, Esq.

Lucrecia is a Senior Counsel in the Houston office of Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP. With nearly two decades of experience in the field, she provides strategic counsel to clients on all aspects of corporate and business immigration matters, working with Fortune 100 companies as well as with small and medium-sized businesses. She has significant experience in helping global businesses manage and better understand international assignments and the employment of foreign nationals on both a temporary and permanent basis in the United States. She advises and represents employers and individuals before the US Department of Homeland Security, the US Department of Labor and US Department of State. Lucrecia has represented clients in a variety of industries, including energy, financial services, technology, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and engineering. 

Utilizing her fluency in Spanish, Lucrecia provides pro-bono representation to children and families through organizations including Catholic Charities and Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), where she also sits on the Houston Advisory Board.  She and her husband, Paul, are owners of Kid ‘N Play Indoor Play Center in Pearland, Texas. Kid ‘N Play provides a purposeful play and hands-on learning experiences in a family-focused environment.  Lucrecia is the mother to 2 beautiful children (Christian and Sophia).
